Tell us a little about yourself.


I’m 16 years olds and from Fishersville Virginia. I play baseball and enjoy the outdoors. I love playing video games and watching movies. I am a student at Wilson memorial high school and I am enrolled in a trade class at valley career and technical center. I started CrossFit in early middle school and have been consistently attending classes since then. When I first started CrossFit I wanted to do something that would help me get stronger for baseball. I had never done anything like it before but found it very fun. I have seen unimaginable growth from CrossFit.


What are your goals for CrossFit? Why do you do CrossFit?


My current goal for CrossFit is to continue to get stronger and increase weights. A few of my biggest goals are to clean 225, squat close to 300, be able to do 50 unbroken push-ups and bench 200. I CrossFit for many reasons like to get stronger, have fun, exercise, and enjoy some friends.


What are your favorite movements? What are your least favorites?


FAVS: Cleans, push-ups, muscle ups, handstand push-ups, squats, and pull ups. I love these movements because I find them fun and excel at them.

NOT FAVS: By a long shot would have to be wallballs. I would run a marathon before I willingly did wallballs. I don’t like wallballs because they obliterate my entire body and lungs.


What do you think is special about CrossFit Anazao?


I think the people that workout at CrossFit Anazao are the most special. Sometimes you have a bad day but it always gets a little bit better going into the gym and talking with friends while working out. No matter what time you come in you will always see friendly faces ready to crack jokes and lift heavy. I love going in and being greeted by the most friendly coaches and athletes. No matter what you can always count on going to CrossFit to get a smile.


Anything else you wish to add?


I have truly loved the past 4-5 years at Anazao. When I first started I couldn’t do a push up, and now I can do 40. The growth I have seen is amazing. I feel the best and strongest I ever have. Another thing I love about Anazao is how diverse the workouts are. It’s not the exact same workout every day of the week and it’s not the same boring movements that feel impossible to complete, every day there is something new and exciting waiting for you. No burning out on the same exercises. The people of Anazao are awesome, I have made so many friends through Anazao and always love working out surrounded by people who are always encouraging you to do your best. There is nothing better than cruising into an evening class and hitting a PR with a bunch of your friends around. Anazao is all around a great experience and I would certainly recommend to anyone with any experience level.

Caeden may be one of our younger athletes, but he sure has grown since he started with us. You can find Caeden and his majestic mullet quietly putting in the work in our evening classes. Just like his iconic hairstyle, Caeden is all business when it comes to refining his technique, but he’s also got some party in him when lifting the heavy stuff. His improvements have been exponential and now he’s giving the “old” guys a run for their money, including his dad, Deke. Caeden embodies everything you can ask for in a young athlete. He shows up, he listens to coaching cues, and he asks all the right questions. He sets a great example for other athletes, both young and old. We are all so lucky to have Caeden (Mini Medeiros) with us at Crossfit Anazao!
