"I feel great at the end of the day! I feel bad when I miss workout days!"

Tell us a little about yourself.

  • I am from Churchville and I have a son Jaxson (that single mom life) and I spend a lot of time on the football and baseball fields.  I have worked at Mrs.Rowes Restaurant for 18 yrs as a waitress. In my down time, I  enjoy spending time with my family and spoiling my niece, I love a good nap when I find time, and also shopping and baking. I enjoy going to the CFA30 classes, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays where I can chat and gossip with my buddy Sherrill

What are your goals for CrossFit? Why do you do CrossFit?

  • I started CrossFit to shed a few pounds and build some muscle.  Since I began I have also enjoyed improving my cardiovascular endurance and overall health.

What are your favorite movements to do in a workout? What are your least favorite?

  • FAVS: I love squats, sit-ups, Russian kettlebell swings, box jumps, the rower and push-ups (I have gotten so much better at push-ups!)
  • NOT FAVS: Movements that are more technical like cleans, running, the Echo Bike and of course…burpees!

What do you think is special about CrossFit Anazao?

  • The coaches are super nice and set the tone each day for class.  They are very helpful, they all have their own personalities that are full of sense of humor.  The members also make it fun during the workout and we are supportive of each other. My Nutrition Coach – Lauren has been so supportive and full of advice that has helped me tremendously.  She listens well and is very understanding which I appreciate.

Anything else you wish to share?

  • Although I do complain about the workouts at the beginning of class (it’s all for fun!)I do enjoy all of the workouts and I feel great at the end of the day! I feel bad when I miss workout days!

A note from one of our coaches:

  • Oh Shelly…haha!  Can’t help but say her name and laugh a little bit!  Shelly has been an athlete that came in 2 years ago and was intimidated by most things in the gym.  But Shelly has a very persistent demeanor and is a hard worker.  Through that, she has made great strides in her overall health and wellness.  She cares for her fellow athletes and she keeps coaches on their toes with questions such as “why are we doing this?” or “Is this the exercise where we do that thing?” and then the banter really starts! But when it comes down to putting in work and pushing herself to improve, she cannot be beat!  Thank you Shelly for being an awesome part of our gym family!
