I picked up my first barbell when I was 15 and I have been hooked on fitness ever since. My strength training was centered on whatever body building routine I could find. These routines assisted me as I played football and was a state competitor in the shot put in high school. My passion for fitness continued as I pursued a degree in Exercise Leadership at James Madison University. During my tenure at JMU I served with the Strength and Conditioning Coaches and assisted in training the volleyball, soccer, and tennis teams, as well as the track & field athletes. Upon graduation I served as an Exercise Specialist/Personal Trainer for several years and then I served as the Athletic/Aquatic coordinator at the local Parks and Rec until I became the owner of CrossFit Anazao in the fall of 2018. I have run 5ks, 10ks and endured the Tough Mudder and Spartan races. In 2014 I started CrossFit and instantly became passionate with the full body, functional fitness that CrossFit encompasses. The constant variety in workouts, comradery with my peers, and having coaches with equal passions, has renewed my love of exercise.
