Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley, I ran indoor and outdoor track, participating in short distances, sprints and hurdles. I was also a cheerleader throughout high school. My first experience with CrossFit was in 2015. I was really interested in Spartan Races and completing a Trifecta (three races) before I turned 40 and I wanted to find a way to train and get in shape for these races. I was told that I was "too little" to complete these races so I took that as a challenge to improve myself and prove others wrong. After seeing CrossFit on TV, I thought to myself, "I bet that would get me ready for the races," so I jumped in head first. My first workout had kettlebell swings and push-ups and I was so sore afterwards but I loved every minute of the community, as well as seeing that I had many things to work on to get better. After years of being an athlete and finding a home at Anazao, I found that I had a desire to help people and I knew that I could help them achieve their goals and share my love of fitness. I took my CrossFit Level 1 trainers course in 2023 and have been coaching since. What I find rewarding when coaching is helping members try new things, experience personal growth and also seeing that people are having fun when they workout.
