"Finding CrossFit Anazao changed my life"
Tell us a little about yourself.
- I’m from Lexington and I work for Ecolab Corporation as a commercial chemical equipment installer. My hobbies include spending time with my wife and daughter and also my dog. I never had much of a background with exercise and fitness until I found Anazao. I was lazy for most of my adult life, not taking my health into consideration and eventually had a stroke and heart attack three years ago. And that was the wake up call I needed.
What are your goals for CrossFit? Why do you do CrossFit?
- To control my health. To be in better shape and stronger than I was yesterday. I am happy that I am gaining strength each week and seeing success with improved workout scores when we retest. As long as I can keep that up, I am happy!
What are your favorite movements to do in a workout? What are your least favorite?
- My favorite movements are deadlifts and power cleans! My least favorite movements are overhead squats and front squats.
What do you think is special about CrossFit Anazao?
- The people. Hands down. Everyone from the start has been fantastic!!! There is so much encouragement, not only from the coaches but the other athletes as well. Healthy competition is one of the best things about this gym. Finding CrossFit Anazao changed my life.
A note from one of our coaches:
Greg came from a place where the odds were stacked against him. His health conditions from having a sedentary lifestyle had gotten the best of him. But from day one Greg has been a hard worker, sometimes even showing up to multiple classes in a day. He was determined to take control of his health and has been willing to make the changes necessary to live a long and healthy lifestyle. Always having a quick wit, his great sense of humor brings balance to our classes. He also has been a huge team player that is willing to help others clean up their equipment and set up for the next class. You can typically find Greg holding down “The Yard” with folks having casual conversation or participating in extra challenges we throw at him.
